Synopsis
Archon est un jeu vidéo de stratégie au tour par tour. Il reprend le principe des échecs en y ajoutant des phases de combat. Chaque pièce est placée sur l'échiquier en fonction de sa portée de déplacement et compose une armée qui représente la lumière ou l'ombre. Lorsqu'une unité tente d'en prendre une autre, les deux sont transportées dans une arène de combat pour déterminer le vainqueur. Une unité peut rester blessée même après avoir remporté son duel ce qui réduit ses chances de victoires lors d'un prochain combat. Le jeu est gagné lorsque toutes les unités adverses sont détruites ou lorsqu'un joueur occupe cinq points de puissance.
