Canton
Description
In 1375, the Grand Mandarin of Canton issues a decree: the merchant of the Chinese Empire who earns the most through worldwide trade will be appointed Grand Chamberlain. Those who fail are not allowed to return to Canton or face beheading. Canton is a strategy game with action elements that focuses on trade. Four players compete on a world map that stretches from Canton to Venice. Each player controls one merchant and three marauders. The goal is to earn more money than the competitors in at least nine cities. Marauders can attack enemy merchants or marauders, which is decided in simple sword fights. Merchants trade in artifacts, spices, gems, and pearls, although outside influences such as the plague can sometimes hinder trade. The game supports up to four human players.
