Synopsis

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond is a first-person action title and the tenth main game in the Metroid series. It follows Samus Aran as she investigates the desolate border world surrounding the Lamorn civilization. The game is structured around a large central desert hub that connects to multiple self-contained regions, each designed as an expansive area with its own atmosphere, environmental theme, and narrative history. Samus explores these regions to uncover lore, acquire upgrades, and defeat bosses, while optional shrines scattered across the overworld offer puzzle-based rewards.

Traversal alternates between open-area movement across the desert and more focused exploration within enclosed regions. Each major zone typically guides players through a sequence of discovery, acquisition of a key ability, and a climactic encounter before returning to the hub. While some backtracking is required for optional items, most progression is linear within each area.
