Synopsis

Seventh Fleet is a strategic naval and air warfare simulation that reenacts a hypothetical conflict between Soviet and U.S. forces in the Pacific in 1996. The player controls the naval and air forces of one side and acts as the theater commander, creating task forces, assigning missions, and responding to operational events. The game is played in text format and uses a game board with pieces to track positions. It begins on June 1, 1996, with time progressing in half-day intervals. The player manages task forces, issues movement orders, and launches attacks. The game can escalate into a nuclear war or end in a ceasefire, with a score system measuring the effectiveness of the command.
