Synopsis

In The White Barrows you take the role of an adventurer entering a network of ancient burial mounds to recover a magical chalice stolen by an evil wizard. The underground complex consists of about forty interconnected rooms, and you begin the game placed randomly in one of them. As you move from room to room you encounter creatures such as gnomes, trolls and dragons while trying to locate the wizard's hiding place. With a limited pool of magic points you can inspect neighboring rooms or raise magical barriers, but every action consumes energy. Only by managing your resources carefully and navigating the maze of barrows wisely can you find the wizard before your magic runs out.
